A lifetime resident of Hampton Roads, Julia Craig Mundy is a fire fighter in Portsmouth VA by profession and a jewelry designer by passion. When working in her studio, Firecat Designs, she combines metals and raw semi-precious stones with more refined crystals and blown glass, creating a mixture of strength with beauty. The end result is potent, yet harmonious and balanced, reflecting what exists within us all. As she creates each one-of-a-kind piece, her Flame Tortie cats, for whom her company is named, keep careful watch over the process.
