A third generation artist and sculptor, Mary Collier previously lived and created her exceptional masterpieces in Virginia Beach, Virginia, but has since relocated to Colorado. Her stunning pieces are a compilation of her unending interest in the human form; its connection with mythological and spiritual worlds; symbolism and daily rituals of present and ancient cultures including those found in the Northwest, Arctic Coast and of her homelands of the Southwest. At first glance, her pieces are often mistaken for carved stone. However through Mary's many years of commitment, experimentation, and crafting of her techniques - she has developed an innovative way of enhancing the beauty and strength of unglazing clay while embodying her spirit and soul into each and every piece. Mary loves
teaching and has been active in her local art guild for many years.
She became well known within the local area and has been featured in
several books, including one from Korea. Ms. Collier's pieces would
be a powerful and vibrant addition to any collection.
