Andy
Perkins is an emerging artist in wood design. While pursuing
a career in Fine Arts from East Carolina University, it was not until
he took
his first class in wood design that he knew where his creative talents
would lead. Since that time he has been designing and constructing studio
furniture.
His designs
have received many awards and upon graduation from college he was recipient
of the Most Prestigious Senior in Wood
Design Award.
In June 2003, he was selected as one of twenty emerging artists
in the United States to intern at the International Conference for
The
Furniture Society held in Philadelphia.
He is a
member of the American Craft Council and The Furniture Society. Andy
is a resident of Olde
Towne Portsmouth Virginia.
Andy's designs are beautifully executed into practical pieces that
are destined to become heirlooms.
