Nancy
Dooley has been drawing and painting since she was a child.
Nancy began taking classes in her home state of Connecticut at the
Silvermine College
of Art. She has lived in many regions of this country and also in Japan,
always pursuing her interest in art.
In
2001, she received her Bachelor's Degree in Studio Art from Virginia
Wesleyan College. She was named Outstanding Artist and was chosen for
the Phoenix Award. Nancy has completed five solo exhibits and is finishing
her Master's Degree at Old Dominion University.
Her
versatile, highly immaginitive work has made her a popular choice
for art collectors.Corporations have aquired her canvases for their
conference rooms and her patrons include the Mayor of Norfolk, a four
star admiral, a film maker and hundreds of other private collectors.
In 2003, the new built Batten Center purchased four of her large canvases
for their space. Most recently she has received a Best of Show award
and Member's Choice from the Chesapeake Bay Art Association.
